To become a Certified Financial Planner involves approximately two years of study and testing. At least three years of work in a financial field is also required before certification. Diane also taught Investments at Brookhaven College in Dallas, Texas. The classes were sponsored by the College of Certified Financial Planners, and were taught to prospective planners before they were tested and certified. The majority of students were seasoned financial professionals, which proved both a challenge and inspiration for their teacher. Diane received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in Economics. Her Master's was earned at the same institution in Political Economy. A subscriber to numerous on-line services, magazines, and the Wall Street Journal, Diane strives to provide the best and most up-to-date information to clients. And as a Certified Financial Planner, she is also required to continuously update her education in relevant topics. As a member of the Financial Planning Association, Diane Benjes regularly attends seminars and conferences on retirement, taxes, and other financial planning topics.
